Bible verse - Thurs. Oct. 29

"I have courage in God's Presence, because I am sure that he hears me if I ask him for anything that is according to his will." 1 John 5:14 (GNT)

I am in God's presence all the time so that means I have courage in any situation...and He hears me when I weaken. Anything according to His will, sometimes I do not know "his will" but most I do, such as taking care of this Temple of the Holy Spirit, so I can ask boldly to help me in this endeavor---I know too that He wants me strong in his Spirit to cope---so He gives me courage. I know he wants families to strive so He answers when I pray for my children and grandchildren to bond and to love Him. (This could be quite a list, isn't the Lord awesome?)

Welcome to Jane!

WELCOME, JANE! Join in on the profound thoughts, sharing triumphs, disappointments, prayers and basically anything you wish! Pray the freshness of the transition is lessening and it will! Has Bethany moved into his room yet? :) I have chuckled about that often, of her anxious to get a headstart on her decorating. Be sure to take a picture of it when she is done.
Was it true that Aaron had to learn the Greek alphabet the first day?
How was Lucy's day yesterday at Wallace?

Of a practical nature for our physical well-being: I am re-reading a book I bought in 1993, "Fit or Fat" and he really pushes the exercise, only thing that will boost the metabolism, and it isn't how far, it is how long--like 20 min., then increase it etc. SO, here I go, but not quite as long as yesterday. But I think my back ache yesterday was from standing while canning, That usually gets me, no matter how I make excuses not to walk, it is GOOD for me, therefore GOOD for what the Lord wants me to be.

Ch 8 - I thought it was good when Stormie stressed taking ownership of her faith by moving on with God and finding truth in the Bible for herself.
Ch 9 - Kind of continues the same theme as Ch 8. Investigating the Bible for herself - even when she didn't understand it all. When I've come to hard passages, I've prayed, Lord, I don't get this...but I believe it's true because this is Your word. I must trust Him more than my ability to understand. If I understood it all, where's my faith?
Prayer request: to not get so busy I don't spend time with the Lord.
Thanks, Jane

Yes, the list of a FEW of God's attributes is awesome! I think one of the mysteries of God is how He can be all places at all times...He is all present, so I respectfully disagree with Stormie's comment that God is where He is asked to be. When we pray for God to be near to someone, isn't it asking God to give that person a sense of His presence..."Draw near to God and He will draw near to you". He doesn't move - I do.
Thanks for praying about our trip to VA. It was beneficial, exhaustive, but good.

It's always amazing to me to hear how someone accepts Christ as Savior. Our stories are all different, yet the saving power of Jesus is the same for everyone!
For this post I thought it'd be cool to hear how/when each of us accepted Christ. Who wants to go first? Ok, I will.
For me, I remember talking to Mom at the end of her bed when I was about 5 and praying "to ask Jesus into my heart." However, when I was 10 at Camp Witness I was really struggling about knowing for sure I was saved. I remember the speaker (a chalk artist)at chapel that night giving a powerful talk about heaven and hell. So that I night in cabin #2 I said, "God, I think I'm saved, but just to be sure, I accept You as Savior..." (something like that) I never doubted my salvation after that.
Praying for you Angie...A & M are on a weekend retreat with their youth group. Pray for a spiritually meaningful time for them.
